Following up on training in cost benefit analysis that was held in FY2011, we are planning a second round of training that will further enhance participants’ analysis skills. In the first training, participants from all directorates of MoFA learned how to carry out cost benefit analysis with a focus on the financial aspects of analysis and use of Microsoft Excel. They created proposals for analysis of different components of METASIP. In this follow-up training, the program will focus more on the operational aspects of cost benefit analysis. In addition, students will carry out the analyses proposed in the previous training. This training is an important part of GSSP’s plans to initiate a thorough assessment of Ghana’s investment plan. By training people within the ministry, we plan to create a core team from MoFA, along with several professors from University of Ghana, who can carry out cost benefit analysis of the components of METASIP as the ministry moves forward with its investment plan.
